I was updating my cat's show stats today when I realized that the Kitten division doesn't make much sense... kittens win ribbons, but not points so when they become cats, they have to go into the open division, even though they've already been showing.
Should we change the division rules (since there are only 2 kittens in the game, which makes it easy to do now) or not?
If we do, we could make the kitten division like the Open division, where they win 6 winners ribbons and then become champions, so when they grow up and become cats, they can go straight into championship competition.
OR
We could make the division like championship competition where they win 1st through 6th place and show points. So they could become champion, grand champion, etc. kittens and then go straight to champion division when they get older. If we did it this way, the kittens would never have to go through an Open division and win 6 winners ribbons, which has its pluses an minuses.
OR
We could keep the rules the same where kittens win 1st through 6th places ribbons, but don't receive show points and must go into Open division before they can become champions.
What does everyone think?

Maybe kittens show to get points that build up and then can result in them going into a champion kitten class. Then when they get older though they should start again to in open class and work up to champion - so that they get more showing experience and titles.

But I think if the owner has been showing them and paying for shows, it should actually be for something permanent.... they should get show points or get to skip open classes or something. Otherwise there really isn't a point to showing your kittens.

I see what you mean. Ok. Changed my mind. Maybe they do skip the open classes but they have to get more wins / points to graduate early?

Alright, I've made my decision. Kitten classes will be run exactly like open classes. Once kittens earn 6 winners ribbons and reach the age of 8 months, they can move on to championship competition. Since kittens can show from 4 to 8 months old, you have a four month window of opportunity to get those 6 ribbons. If you win 4 winners ribbons in kitten, your kitten will move onto open when they reach the end of their eighth month with 4 ribbons and then will need to win 2 in open before they go to championship competition.

I like it. It makes sence and the kitten still can do some open classes. Cool
